Marking the 50th anniversary of the carnival, August Thursday is part of a week of boat races, including 6 A Class and 4 B Class races. The boat with the highest points accumulated throughout the year is awarded BOAT OF THE YEAR after August Thursday. On Sunday August 11th, the top 5 boats from August 4th-8th will compete for the title of CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS.

Races usually start in the afternoon, around 1pm. Be sure to listen to the Anguilla radio stations or ask the front desk at your accommodations about the start time of the race or any changes due to conditions at sea! Also, it never hurts to just go to the beach and enjoy your time until the race starts!
